Episode 3 - 'Hair'

Introduction to the show by a mad scientist in front of a blackboard who talks about the 'Sonic Hedgehog' gene in fruit flies (it's real! - it makes the fruit flies very spiky when its activated).

Karl at his psychiatrists.  He begins the story...

Karl's in a club hitting on a girl.  She mace's him.  Karl attempts to use his insectoid resistance to mace to impress her.  She sprays him with fly spray and leaves him gagging on the floor.

Karen brings home a new boyfriend.  He is a large biker type with crazy facial hair.  Karl decides he needs facial hair to impress the ladies.

Cut to brief scene of Mammal Man running through the streets.  He looks a lot like homo erectus apart from he has enormous hairy breasts.  A mad professor appears briefly from no-where and excitedly points out his amazing features: hair, opposable thumbs, and lactating!!!

Karl being an insect is completely unable to grow facial hair.  Fortunately Phil knows that there's a mad scientist living in their basement.

The mad scientist explains to Karl about the Sonic Hedgehog gene.  He also tells them about his other creation: Mammal Man.

Karl agrees to undergo the experiment and have his Sonic Hedgehog gene activated.

Weird science experiment/Frankenstein rip-off.

The scientist takes off Karl's bandages.  Karl is now spiky and blue.  He can also run VERY fast and jump up high and spin.

The mad scientists decides this is the greatest thing ever and he's going to take over the world.  He jumps into a little flying machine and zooms off firing lasers (this should make no sense in the full-script either).

Karl is horrified.  He runs upstairs to see the city outside smouldering.  Chas is there calmly playing his video games. Karl explains the problem to him.

Chas is in his element.  He tells Karl to run through the city very fast collecting the golden coins.  Once he's collected all the coins then he can defeat the mad scientist.  Karl says this is absurd.  Chas tells him that these are the rules and he can either defeat the mad scientist or burn like the others.  Karl just shakes his head.

Absurd Sonic the Hedgehog rip off scene - where Karl runs about collecting gold coins.  This should be animated to resemble a 2-D sideways-scrolling platform game, just like the old Sonic games.

Once he's collected all the gold coins Karl comes face to face with the mad scientist.  Karl jumps ineffectually on the scientist a few times but the mad scientist easily defeats him. Just as he is about to deliver the final blow, Mammal Man jumps onto the screen, beats up the mad scientist and squirts milk everywhere.
